UNTAPPED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY
Information for GPs and Referrers
Thank you for considering Untapped Exercise Physiology for your patients and clients. We work with GPs, specialists, physiotherapists, case managers, rehab and return to work coordinators, and NDIS support coordinators and plan managers across the Mackay region.

Who we see
Adults and young people aged 10 and over with chronic pain, falls risk, neurological conditions, menopause and bone health, injury and post-surgery rehab, sporting injuries, chronic conditions such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, and workplace injuries.
Sessions run in our clinic, in small groups, at home, at the gym or in the pool, with VALD testing where relevant.
How to refer
Medicare (chronic condition management plan)
Please send a referral under the patient's chronic condition management plan, specifying exercise physiology and the number of sessions. Patients may be eligible for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year.
WorkCover and insurers
Please include the claim number, insurer, case manager contact details and any approved sessions or restrictions.
NDIS
We see self-managed and plan-managed participants. Please include the participant's NDIS goals, plan management details and support coordinator contact details.
Private and other referrals
A referral isn't required for private clients, but a letter with relevant history is always helpful.
Send a referral
Include patient details, reason for referral, relevant history, precautions, any imaging or reports, and funding details.

We contact new referrals within 48 hours, send an initial report after the first consult, and provide progress updates at key review points.
What you can expect from us
An initial report after the first consult, outlining assessment findings, goals and the exercise plan
Progress updates at key review points, or as required under Medicare, WorkCover or NDIS
Objective data from VALD testing, where relevant
Prompt communication if we have any concerns or think the patient needs medical review.
