Exercise Physiology for Neurological Conditions in Mackay
Living with a neurological condition can affect how you move, your balance, your energy and your independence. Exercise can play an important role in helping you stay as strong, mobile and independent as possible, and in helping you keep doing the things that matter to you.
We work with people living with a range of neurological conditions, in our clinic, at home and in the pool.

How exercise can help
Every neurological condition is different, and so is every person living with one. Depending on your condition and goals, an exercise program may help you to:
maintain or improve strength and mobility
improve balance and reduce your risk of falls
improve walking, and the ease of everyday movements like getting up from a chair
manage fatigue and pace your energy
stay active and connected with your community
maintain independence at home.
Our Approach
-
We'll take time to understand your condition, how it affects you day to day, your energy levels and what's most important to you. Family members, carers and support workers are welcome.
-
Whether it's walking to the shops, getting in and out of the car, playing with grandchildren or staying in your own home, your goals guide your program.
-
Symptoms like fatigue, tremor or spasticity can vary. We adjust each session to how you're feeling on the day.
-
We communicate with your GP, neurologist, physio, OT, support coordinator or plan manager, so everyone is working towards the same goals.
Ways to train with us
At home → exercise where you live, with no travel needed.
In the clinic One-on-one at 118 Wood Street, Mackay.
In small groups → your own program in a supportive group.
In the pool → water supports your body, making some movements easier and balance work less daunting.
NDIS and other funding
We see NDIS participants whose plans are self-managed or plan-managed. Exercise physiology is usually funded under Capacity Building, often through Improved Health and Wellbeing or Improved Daily Living. We can provide reports for your plan reviews.
You can also access our services privately, through Medicare with a GP chronic condition management plan, or with home care funding. Private health can be claimed on the spot.
