About exercise physiology
-
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who specialises in prescribing exercise to prevent and manage chronic conditions, injuries and disabilities. AEPs are accredited through Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
-
Physiotherapists often use hands-on treatment, such as massage, joint mobilisation or dry needling, alongside exercise, especially early after an injury. Exercise physiologists focus on exercise as the treatment, and on building long-term strength, fitness and function. Many of our clients see both.
-
Personal trainers generally work with healthy people on fitness goals. Exercise physiologists are university-trained allied health professionals qualified to work with people who have health conditions, injuries or disabilities, and are recognised by Medicare, NDIS and WorkCover.
-
Not at all. We work with people at every level, from those who haven't exercised in years to competitive athletes.
