Exercise for Women's Health and Menopause in Mackay
Perimenopause and menopause bring a lot of changes: to your energy, sleep, mood, body composition, and to your bones and muscles. Many women tell us they feel like their body has changed overnight, and the exercise they used to do just isn't working any more.
Exercise can be a powerful tool through this stage of life. We'll help you find an approach that suits your body, your energy levels and your life, and build strength and confidence along the way.

Why exercise matters through menopause
As oestrogen levels change, women naturally lose muscle and bone density more quickly. Regular exercise, particularly strength training, is one of the best-supported ways to look after your long-term health. A well-designed program can help to:
maintain and build muscle strength
support bone health, which is important for reducing osteoporosis risk
support heart and metabolic health
improve energy, sleep and mood for many women
manage weight and body composition changes
improve balance and reduce falls risk in later years.
Why strength training?
Walking is great, but on its own it's not enough to maintain muscle and bone as you age. Progressive strength training, done safely and with good technique, gives your muscles and bones the challenge they need. If lifting weights feels intimidating, that's completely normal. We'll teach you from the ground up.
What’s involved
-
We'll talk about your health, your symptoms, your goals and any past injuries. We'll assess your strength, balance and movement, and where helpful use VALD testing to set a baseline you can measure progress against.
-
Your program is built around your energy levels, schedule and preferences, whether that's in our clinic, at your gym or at home.
-
Menopause symptoms can vary from week to week. We'll adjust your program so you can keep going on the harder days.
-
Exercise works alongside, not instead of, medical care. We're happy to work with your GP or women's health specialist.
